A Very Polite Response to the Latest Insanity by Dr. Robert Bartholomew
“A ‘Havana Syndrome’ Investigation in Congress Rests on Politics, Not Science” by Dr. Bartholomew in Scientific American, March 15, 2024
Here is Dr. Bartholomew’s latest opinion article in Scientific American: https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/a-havana-syndrome-investigation-in-congress-rests-on-politics-not-science/
Synopsis. An American psychologist Dr Bartholomew currently lecturing in NZ, is having a public fit about what the members of Congress are doing regarding so-called “Havana Syndrome”.
His trip down the memory lane contains “telephone sickness” and such. But where is the balance? Where is the Tuskegee Experiment, radiation experiments? Do you think your readers are clueless?
Then Dr Bartholomew brings up the infamous “cricket” report, while completely ignoring more recent and substantive report with a different conclusion, congruent with the conclusion of the National Academy of Sciences consensus report.
Further, Dr Bartholomew has a problem with 2018 JAMA article. But you know what’s the most annoying about the methodology of Dr Bartholomew? Examination of select data alone, rather than assessing it together and considering the totality of the . Moreover, he complains about the lack of clinical data, when it is crystal clear to everyone that the government doesn’t want to make it available to the public. This diagnosis, Non-Kinetic Brain Injury has been known by military physicians for years.
And finally, the crowning jewel of the article is a beautiful and simple advice: “follow the science”. The only question I have for Dr Bartholomew - should we follow all the science, or just the one that confirms your sadly outdated “mass hysteria” hypothesis?
The only way this will get resolved is for Dr Bartholomew to “come down with a severe case of Havana Syndrome “ and see how he likes it.
Readers are clueless and the majority of people who I know even those relatively close to me and those living in my local community (including authorities, and all professionals for that matter) are clueless & it’s a shame
